Codman Square

Codman Square is known as the true crossroad of Boston because it is the geographic center of Dorchester, Massachusetts. Codman Square is also an ancient Massachusetts Indian trail which led to the hills of Mattapan and Milton. Codman Square became became an important part of Dorchester in 1655. The first house was built in 1666. The famous  Henry Knox lived in Codman Square just after the war in 1784. There were so many famous churches in the 1800's. The Codman Square clinic was opened in 1905. Codman Square is known for lots of businesses and interesting architecture.  The Codman Square’s library used to be a school house and before that it used to be a mansion.
