Fredrick Douglass- Abolitionist, by Breanna W.

An abolitionist is an individual who is in favor of terminating the actions of a certain practice such as slavery. American slavery started in 1619 where African Americans were kidnapped from Africa and put under another person's rules. This kind of act with this persons power is known as a slave owner who acts as in-charge of African Americans in a plantation field. Fredrick Douglass who so also happened to be in that situation during that time period of experiencing the agonizing torture of his slave owner Aaron Anthony. Who has a history of beating his slaves who didn't follow his rules in such a prompt time . This action of torture represented in Fredrick creating a tons of stories called My Bondage and My Freedom (1855) As well as North Star. Which is all about Fredrick's way of freedom & how he escaped from slavery using the resources he has gained thought his slavery years. Such as his reading/writing skills that he was taught from his previous relationship "Anna" he learned he was able to understand the Article of Underground Railroad and he was able to take his travel from Baltimore, NewYork to finally New Bedford and making something of his life. Futhermore, Fredricks way of being a abolitionist had no violence involved he used his words to get his point across as well as he teamed up with other people who believed in freeing slaves such as Garrison but, they had end up up going certain ways due to their believes of each other . Fredrick just wanted to free slaves but Garrison wanted to Free Slaves and make equal rights and that right there is what Fredrick thought was too much of a reach too soon .
